Tony Peniche- Getting Businesses Off the Ground and Running

One of the hardest things for any entrepreneur in the modern age is to get the business off the ground and running. Whilst they may have an airtight concept and business model, in a world where businesses are being conceived on a daily basis, it can be hugely difficult to compete in any market. Getting the engine started is increasingly difficult, and has no doubt seen many businesses even with excellent and innovative ideas crumble and fall. Platforms such as Kickstarter and other crowd-funding sites have been developed to help these very businesses, and can make the difference between success and failure. Tony Peniche, Portland-based artist, designer and entrepreneur is one such man who knows all about the crowd-funding industry.

When advising and helping people evaluate business potential, there is one big question for Tony Peniche – Is it Kick-starter Material? In a city like Portland, which is famed for its ability to cultivate small exciting businesses and set the enterprising trends across the world, this is the type of question that needs to be put to any start-up company. Tony Peniche is something of an institution in the Portland area. Having graduated from the arts University in the city, Tony Peniche has seen success in a number of fields, from being awarded  Fashion Designer of the Year by the PFSA (Portland Fashion & Style Awards) in 2012, to  being awarded by the PDX 30 for being one of the top Entrepreneurs under the age of 30.

Despite his young age, his knowledge of the city, its scenes and culture make him the go-to guy when it comes to understanding the the crowd-funding scene in the city. His expertise have not gone unnoticed. He regularly lectures at the University of Portland on exactly these topics- Kickstarter, start-ups, setting-up new business, crowd-funding and other entrepreneurial aspects important for new businessmen.

However, Tony's desire to help the entrepreneurial community in Portland doesn't end there. In 2012 he set-up NXT Industries, a huge creative office space for entrepreneurs and artists to work in, creating an environment fro which people of all industries and talents to flourish in. Spaces like this, 'incubators' as you may call them, are vital to helping enterprise and the arts flourish in cities like Portland. For Tony Peniche, it is the perfect way to give back to a community that gave so much to him and allowed him to achieve the success he has today.
