Tony Peniche – No Ordinary Graduate

One thing that has been consistent throughout the evolution of humankind is alcohol. In fact, drinking alcohol is one of the few consistencies found within almost all societies. While attitudes towards alcohol have fluctuated over the centuries, all attempts to prohibit it have led to ignominy. The American experience of Prohibition should serve as an object lesson in this regard. Like it or not, alcohol is ingrained in our social culture, giving people from all walks of life a unifying thread that helps promotes personal connections and shared experiences.

Entrepreneur Tony Peniche is well aware of the enormous impact alcohol has had on bringing people together. It is this awareness that provided the impetus for Whiskey Elements, an innovative product manufactured by Peniche’s Portland-based start-up, Time & Oak. In October 2014, Peniche announced the idea via a Kickstarter campaign, believing it would revolutionize whiskey-drinking culture. Whiskey Elements are small, horizontally laser cut sticks that can enhance the color and taste of any brand of whiskey simply by being placed inside the bottle for 24 hours. The Kickstarter campaign was remarkably successful, raising nearly $195,000 by its close. The following year, Time & Oak signed a multi-million dollar agreement and established a manufacturing plant in northeast Portland. By such ingeniousness and vision does Tony Paniche truly demonstrate that he is no ordinary graduate

However, improving customers’ whiskey quality was not Peniche’s only objective. Like many of his other business pursuits, Peniche wanted to  keep with the true cultural spirit of imbibing and connect with - and give back to - his community. Peniche and the other founders decided to start Project Footprint, a non-profit charity whose aim is to help save the planet. Project Footprint’s vision is to build a co-op community and to develop solutions on how to efficiently conserve land using for-profit practices. For every purchase made through Time & Oak, Project Footprint conserves one square foot of forest land.

Tony Peniche is an exemplary model of how businesses can be financially successful while also providing positive benefits for the communities from which they came. Time & Oak not only provides customers with the unique ability to customize their favorite whiskey no matter their budget, they also give customers the satisfaction of knowing that each of their purchases contributes to the greater good of the community. Tony Peniche – Following His Dreams

Tony Peniche is an exceptional entrepreneur in the fields of photography, fashion, and various startups. He does a lot of free business consulting in the Portland area such as, development, innovation, investor strategies, kickstarter funding, marketing, manufacturing and launch strategies.

Tony Peniche received his BA in Apparel Design, which is what he was truly passionate about at that time. Right after finishing his degree at the young age of 21, Tony became a fashion designer and quickly became successful. A few years later in 2012, Tony received the Fashion Designer of the Year by the PFSA. Right off the bat Tony Peniche received sponsorship by several brands such as, Lamborghini, Motocorsa, 42 Bellow, Vodka, and Red Bull. Due to his exceptional talent he actually became one of the youngest designers to show a label at Paris Fashion Week, which was an amazing opportunity for him to show all of his hard work and talent. After the fashion show he made a huge impact on the designer of Oscar de la Renta, Jose Solis, and was offered an internship under him in New York. This was a great opportunity and Jose Solis served as a very experienced mentor to Tony. Finally in 2012, after only 6 years of being a men’s fashion designer, the Portland Fashion and Style Awards awarded the Fashion Designer of the Year to Tony. Tony Peniche became so successful in the fashion industry because he knew the difference between style and fashion, and how to incorporate both concepts into his fashion line.

In Tony Peniche’s men’s fashion line he not only created a specific style for men but he also created various fashion trends. For many people style is much more than just what you wear; it is a representation of who you are. The objective of style is to encompass your personality, your interests, and the statements you want to make to the world. Your style becomes an avenue for you to publically share your voice and to do so in such a simple way. The difference with fashion is that it focuses on various trends and thus it evolves over time. Fashion becomes more of an art form and for fashion designer’s it is an opportunity to create new trends and potentially influence the development of individual’s personal styles.

Tony Peniche is always making a bold fashion statement even in his business.

Tony Peniche – Taking Fashion to a Whole Other Level

Tony Peniche is a jack-of-all-trades. After two years at Western Oregon University he discovered that this wasn’t the right fit for him and then transferred to the Art Institute of Portland, where he was able to follow his dreams and pursue his passion of apparel design. Right after he received his degree in Apparel design, at the young age of 21, he began his career as a fashion designer. Several brands such as, Lamborghini, Motocorsa, 42 Bellow, Vodka, and Red Bull quickly sponsored him. Tony Peniche knows the difference between style and fashion, which is what has helped him be so successful in the fashion industry. So what is the difference between style and fashion? In recent years the concept of personal styles has been on the rise especially with so much available social media to discover various styles and so forth. For many people style is much more than just what you wear; it is a representation of who you are. The objective of style is to encompass your personality, your interests, and the statements you want to make to the world. Fashion becomes more of an art form and for fashion designer’s it is an opportunity to create new trends and potentially influence the development of individual’s personal styles.

Tony Peniche goes a step further by making a bold fashion statement in business. Tony is not afraid to set new trends and try new things in the business world. He is always looking for something new and is not afraid of taking a little risk on something that he believes has potential

Tony Peniche – The American Dream and What it Means Today

America was born as the land of opportunity. In 1931, historian James Truslow Adams wrote “life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement,” regardless of social class or circumstances of birth. This was the beginning of the concept of “The American Dream,” which would later go on to influence and persuade thousands of immigrants to leave their homes in pursuit of streets paved with gold. Admittedly, this notion is a bit exaggerated; anyone who has been to New York knows that the streets are far from golden. But the core concept of the “American Dream” – equal opportunity for all – is still very much alive today.

In what other country could a barely 30 year-old entrepreneur establish several successful brands of men’s fashion, open a revolutionary creative development corporation that builds and manages office-studio spaces for creative professionals, and invent a patented line of laser-etched pieces of wood that can upgrade any bottle of whiskey to top-shelf quality in just 24 hours. Not only has Tony Peniche achieved all of these, he has also managed to find time to contribute to the pursuits of his fellow entrepreneurs by giving talks at colleges like the University of Oregon and Portland State University about startup business strategies, and by providing free business consulting throughout his home city of Portland.

A self-proclaimed natural leader, Mr. Peniche made a name for himself in fashion while he was still a student at The Art Institute of Portland. In 2011 he was awarded by PDX 30 for being one of the topmost entrepreneurs under the age of 30, and the following year he was named Fashion Designer of the Year by the Portland Fashion & Style Awards.

Miraculously, Mr. Peniche has managed not to let his fame go to his head. On the contrary, he uses his formidable position in the business world to promote other startup up companies. One such company is Findlay Hats, which provides customers with customizable, personalized hats that are the perfect signature to any style. Like Mr. Peniche, Findlay Hats founder Jimmy Hickey was a true believer in the “American Dream.” This is why, in 2013, Mr. Hickey drained his bank account and invested all of his money into his idea for a hat company that would be unlike any other. Today, Findlay Hats is a profitable company that continues to “outfit and inspire true adventurers.”

America is indeed a land of opportunity for those who are willing to seek it out. And fortunately there are people like Tony P

Tony Peniche – Making a Bold Fashion Statement in Business

Everyone has heard the phrase “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Unfortunately, human nature isn’t wired to initially respond this way when encountering a stranger. In reality, people judge others by their appearance just as much as others judge them. How someone dresses, how groomed someone is, or how someone carries themself acts as an early indicator of what kind of person others think they are. This is not to imply that people should make themselves appear in a way that is not true to their nature – if this were the case, the world would be pretty boring. However, it is good to be aware that the way a person packages him or herself is often the way he or she will be perceived.

When it comes to appearance, Tony Peniche is a seasoned expert. A serial entrepreneur, renowned fashion designer, and professional photographer just shy of 30 years old, Mr. Peniche has achieved more than many do in their entire lifetimes. His brand of men’s clothing line, “Killing Beverly”, was showcased at the 2009 Portland Fashion Week, making Mr. Peniche the youngest designer ever to be featured at the event. “Killing Beverly” was an innovative, albeit controversial, brand that set out to deconstruct the fake, materialistic culture that has become synonymous with Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills. It also represented notions of love lost to this vapid universe, using bold cuts and graphics to portray an array of intense emotion. Mr. Peniche’s clothing is not just for wearing – it depicts real messages about the struggle between genuine creative originality and the corporations that try to reduce this creativity to nothing more than a price tag.

Mr. Peniche quickly took the Portland fashion industry by storm, but his insatiable ambition pushed him to reach further than the border of his home state and country. In 2010, he accompanied some of Portland’s top fashion delegates on a trip to China to establish international relations between Portland’s designers and China’s manufacturers. Mr. Peniche was given the opportunity to display his Fall collection to the fashion association of China, which made Mr. Peniche fully realize the global extent of the fashion industry.

Tony Peniche has made quite a name for himself in the fashion industry, but he has no intentions of slowing down any time soon. With his successful fashion line and production company, fashion enthusiasts should expect many more creatively enthralling ventures from Mr. Peniche.
